7/12/2011 - CabinetMakerFDM - Everybody in woodworking knows the old saying, “Measure twice, cut once.” It’s a testament both to the importance of accuracy in our business and to the frequency of bad measurements. Modern automation has the power to add precision and replace much of the mistaken measurements on the cutting side of the equation. But for small shops and job site work, automation has seemed out of reach or unwieldy. The SawGear system from TigerStop means to change that.. Read More > Watch The Video >

2-23-2011 - TOOLS OF THE TRADE Magazine - Like most finish carpenters, I spend a lot of time measuring, marking, and cutting trim. Anything that speeds up this part of the job really helps my bottom line, so I'm always on the lookout for ways to boost my efficiency. About a year ago, for instance, I switched to a laser measuring device, and I've been pleased by how much it has increased the speed and accuracy of my measuring. But it wasn't until I was given the opportunity to test the SawGear Automatic Length-Measuring System that I realized it was possible to similarly improve my cutting.

1-07-2011 - Pro Tool Reviews - Have we finally reached the end of the tape measure? With laser distance measures and all manner of future technology, why not a solution that eliminates the measuring and marking of wood for cutting on a miter saw? Why not indeed. SawGear came to market in late 2009 with a tool that has since been seemingly perfected - at least from what we've seen in video demonstrations. In any case, we're looking forward to getting a better look at it first hand at this year's IBS Expo in Orlando. Read More >

11-01-2010 - ToolsOfTheTrade.com - I saved the most unusual tool for last - the SawGear automatic measuring system. What's interesting about this device is that it does away with the need to measure or set stop blocks while cutting pieces on a miter saw. It consists of a fence, movable stop, keypad, and a hidden motor. The carpenter enters dimensions on the keypad and the motor moves the stop to the correct location to make the cut. I have seen this tool in action on a local jobsite and it is impressive. Read More >

07-01-2010 - EBuild.com - Whether you’re cutting trim or framing, you can’t beat a saw stop for repeatable accuracy. But consistent, day-long accuracy within 1/128 inch over a whole range of lengths is sure to defeat the focus of even the most dedicated cut-station operator. SawGear is an automated measuring device that mounts to your miter-saw stand and kicks error out of the equation. Read More >
02-02-2010 - BuilderNewsMag.com - Now with that title I need you to think of shifting gears of how you do work, whether that’s framing on a home or using a worm drive saw of some sort to cut lumber. That’s great if you’ve swung one for a number of years. I recently set the worm drive aside for a bit and tried the SawGear, an automatic length-measuring device for saws.
As revolutionary as the tape measure was back in the 1940s, the SawGear is a tool that will save you time, material and frustration once you get used to using it. And once you get your hands and eyes involved, you will really understand this tool. Read More >
01-07-2010 - FineHomebuilding.com - Nobody is saying that a tape measure and pencil are obsolete, but the SawGear coming to market certainly makes them appear about as high tech as the bunny ears on your Aunt Gertrudes television set.
