About New Bedford Tool & Gauge Co.

New Bedford Tool Company draws its heritage from the small town of New Bedford, Massachusetts and the whaling fleets of the 17th and 18th century.  New Bedford Tool originally supplied the great merchant fleets of an emerging nation.

With the introduction of SawGear, we have added the word “Gauge” to the name New Bedford Tool to better reflect our business.  The New, New Bedford Tool & Gauge Company is focused on job site automation.

Over the course of the last decade, our team has seen automation take hold at every level in the economy but for one; the construction industry. Much of what is done on the jobsite has not changed in the last ten, twenty, or even forty years.  Lasers have been a first step but the rest of the activities you find in the construction industry are still using power tools, tapes, and good old hand tools. We decided it was time for a game changer.

When it comes to tools, we know our business and our customers.  Careful observation of the construction environment and the work processes of skilled trades’ people led us to finding a simple solution with radical impact on cost of construction.
